Hang Kasturi was one of the five renowned warriors attached to the 15th century court of Sultan Mansur Shah. He mastered his silat (Malay martial arts) skills under the same tutelage as Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu. Sadly, he attained notoriety by having an affir with one of the sultan's concubines which led to his execution. The mausoleum is surrounded by many historic Straits Chinese buildings. Facing opposite it is the entrance of Hui Kuan or Hokkien merchants' guild which highlights the beautiful stone carvings.
