This is a charming little café within earshot of Dutch Square. A narrow orange-walled entrance leads into a veranda and another world perched on the bricked-up banks of the Malacca River. Banana trees and unobstructed river views impart a timeless tropical feel, as if straight off a Hemingway or Conrad prop. A living iguana in a glass tank eyes the lone sandaled white tourist in floral shirt sipping his Tiger. The menu is an interesting concoction of local and Western delights, ranging from light snacks and sandwiches to meatier options like burgers, Lamb Chops, and Steak Iguana Special of the beef variety. Soft drinks, beers, hot and cold beverages are on tap.
