The Portuguese Square goes through a good drenching and dousing during this ancient Portuguese celebration which in part parallels the mischief of the Loy Kratong Festival. During the day, everyone runs the risk of being, and often getting, splashed or poured on without immunity except perhaps for the sick and infirm. Traditional street dancing takes over in the evening, as soaked revelers boogie from house to house on into the night.
