This is where the famed chicken rice balls of Malacca had started. It is the first shop that served the sought-after specialty food three decades ago and continues to pack them in everyday. Occupying a humble little shop as it has always done, the scene here retains simultaneously the clutter and charm of a way of dining in the lives of the locals. The chicken rice balls, golf ball sized, are cooked in butter and ginger to go with steamed chicken. An expanded menu now includes Black Bean Soup, Lotus Root Soup and Asam Fish, apparently to counter copycat competition. Soft drinks, hot and cold beverages are available.
