Spain's most earthy and interesting peasant recipes undoubtedly come from Bierzo in the northern province of León and that's what you get here. The traditional soups will warm your bones, especially on cold winter nights. The cecina (smoked beef) and the delicious tortilla berciana (red pepper omelette) are wholesome, hearty and healthy. What's more, the prices are reasonable. If you can't make it to León, try this place. You won't be disappointed. It's a simple tavern decorated in rustic style with lots of wood, strings of garlic hanging from the walls and shelves full of bottles. The atmosphere is always lively and good humored.
booking is advisable.
