Malaysia’s ubiquitous Pasar Malam (Night Market) finds itself a permanent address in the bustling Chinatown of Malacca. Along Jalan Kee Ann, dozens of street peddlers line up daily from 6p to 11p to hawk every conceivable household necessity. Plastic flowers, foodstuffs, watches, VCDs, apparels, etc, are sold here for very reasonable prices, and even then, bargaining is the accepted norm. In the days running up to the annual Lunar New Year, shopping is especially intense as the locals mop up festive goods. For the tourists, this is a great way to witness the local way of life.
